Gaming has always been a male dominated industry. There is no debating this fact. Men have dominated this industry for a long time however, women are rising in numbers and women are now making up almost half of all gamers.
So how do we define a gamer here at Gamer Girl. A Gamer is a woman who plays Mobile, Console, PC, or other types of games. The gaming brand has expanded over the years as technology has and every game has its own operating system.
While I enjoy the occasional Console game and sometimes play games on my gaming Computer, I am largely defined as a mobile gamer. I play games on the tiny computer in my pocket and I love them.
Did I see myself becoming this? Absolutely not! My first career had nothing to do with anything technology related. However, I have always loved strategy games and quickly fell in love with Mobile Strategy games. Not only for the strategy but for the interaction with other players all around the world.
In the time I have played I have met many people and I have had the awesome opportunity to be able to do this as a job. I log in and play and log out and write strategy articles. However, as mentioned in the website introduction, at times I am underestimated because I am a woman.
I am a woman and I am a gamer and proud of it! My guess is that if you are reading this so are you! So ladies let’s start a revolution and demand the respect we deserve in the gaming world.
Yes, we are women, that doesn’t make us any less of a gamer then our male counterparts.
