There are Gamer Girls and then there are the Fake Gamer Girls. I debated using the term Gamer Girl when creating this site due to the negative connotations that come with those words. However, there is nothing wrong with being a Gamer Girl.
The fault comes when you encounter Fake Gamer Girls. Recently, a friend sent me a meme that highlighted one of the reasons women struggle to get respect in the gaming community. This next image is a bit much but it is also the reason that I debated going with Gamer Girl as the name of this community.
This is what Gamer Girls get labeled as. Now, I’m not sure about you ladies but I don’t look like that when I am playing games. While looking around at different videos and links I stumbled across this YouTube Video about Gamer Girls. This girl cracks me up and hits the issue head-on with some truth.
