Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night? I do, quite often actually. I wake up and the first thing I typically do is grab my phone and check in. Do I have a million Line messages? No… What about notifications from my games…
If all appears in order I typically pop in for a minute on my games to be sure that either my shield is active or I am not frying to a crisp as my troops get killed off. Once I ensure that my digital world is, in fact, intact, I go back to sleep most nights.
However, there are nights like tonight where it’s the middle of the night and I am still awake even after ensuring that everything is okay. So I sit and I write articles and sometimes I check in and chat and play my game for a little bit longer. While trying to get back to sleep would likely be more productive sometimes my thoughts are just too busy.
The stillness in the night and just being productive can often calm the thoughts that keep me awake. The community that has become my family can help to distract me and to uplift me in my darkest moments. So what do I do in the Middle of the night? I spend time investing in the community and the people that I love.
Out of all the things I could do in the middle of the night this is what I choose. This is my world and part of who I am.
