Exploding Kittens

As Promised! We are bringing you reviews of different mobile games! Our first review is on a game that began as a card game and has made it to the world of mobile games, Exploding Kittens.

I had heard of this card game in the past but never gotten the chance to play it. One day a good friend of mine, Pappster, brought it to my attention in the App Store. Myself and several friends downloaded it and began to try it out.

Game: Exploding Kittens

App store Cost: 2 Dollars

The Experience

We downloaded the game and began playing. We had some initial problems with being able to connect to a game together but once we figured out how that part worked the process became seamless.

Learning to play the game was simple and we found that we enjoyed it. The avatars depending on which one you choose have different things they can say. When you add on top of that the fun sound effects from different cards and game play it made the game not only fun but funny.

What we Liked

I like that you can play the game even if there are no friends around. There are opportunities to connect to games with other players or you are able to play against the computer.

While there is an initial cost with the game no other purchases are required. They have additional avatars that you are able to buy or different decks you can buy but even the cost on this is minimal. I spent anywhere from 10 to 15 dollars on this game and there is nothing else I can purchase.

This is a quick game that you can use to kill time and have some fun. It is made even more fun when you have friends who download the game and you are able to spend quality time together even if you are not in the same space. This is one that would be fun to play while having a phone conversation at the same time.

Overall, this game has brought a lot of laughter and fun and in my opinion was worth the money spent.

What we did not like

The major part of this game that I do not like is the way you connect with friends. Instead of adding them in game and being able to directly invite them to a game you have to get a code and share it. I have had some problems with being able to share the code via Line App which is where I connect with the friends I play the game with.

This has required us to obtain a code and exit out of the game in order to share the code and then go back in. While we have pretty much gotten the process down so it is seamless there are better ways to connect that we hope the game someday updates to include.
